Cream Cheese Morning May. 17th, 2008 @ 09:15 am
[info]geminiwench
Did my usual.

Woke up, remembered my clothes hadn't been dried, improvised a cute outfit that no one will see, and had a really pretty walk/ride to work. The day is BEAUTIFUL.

We don't really "take breaks" here... but we get enough downtime, so no one bothers or complains.

I did the usual. I walked in, started brewing coffee, went upstairs to clock in and slather a bagel with cream cheese, take my mug downstairs and fill it with caffeinated brew, come back upstairs and sit down to work.

What a nice way to start the morning, really.

There are some books downstairs, I picked up a few of them since the bosses aren't here today and books are awesome. Picked up two 1950s astrology books (Someone who owns several used books is automatically my friend) and "The Collected Works of Ken Wilber, Vol. 6: Sex, Ecology and Spirituality" which looks pretty darned fantastic.

Babbling about books )

[info]geminiwench
Was grumpy all day...

Woke up so early, woke up pissed... ended up going to work early, and worked most of the day alone which sucked when it was REALLY busy.

Went from work to Jesse's parents whose house is almost totally finished and they moved back in today since the kitchen caught on fire back in October.

The place is beautiful and they went from one 25" 15 yr old tv to TWO 46" flat screen LCD tvs. Niiiiice.

Then we got stuffed at Tomato Street.

I can't even move. Mooooooove!

Tomorrow is my Friday! WOO!

Its going to be a loooong day, though... almost straight from work to the Roller Derby.. double header roller derby down in Worley. So, Ill be the pirate girl, cheer on the girls, the drag my ass home,... maybe Ill have the energy to dye that night. Mayhap not.

Gah. My stomach is BURSTING!!!

Grump... May. 16th, 2008 @ 02:42 pm
[info]geminiwench
Don't we all have a few things that just... push our buttons? Grind your gears? Things that make us terribly emotional or emotionally wounded even when it may be a small piddly thing for someone else?

Well, that was why I was up at 5am, and started pouting, stomping and general bitching, ended up staying awake and leaving for work early... which meant I was at work an entire hour early for no reason except a private place to be fucking pissed. Because, well, that is what I do. Jesse wasn't interested in letting my share my pissiness with him at 5am, so I went away to do it.

But more about that will just put me in an angry and/or thoughtful mood. Ill think aloud about that whole shebang another time.

I wanted to give a hair update, since like a douche I posted something with a lot of exclaimation marks to punctuate my excited state, and then what came of it was nothing more than an annoyingly small puff of smoke and a guy in a cheap black top-hat going, 'TA-DA!'

Ie: nothing exciting.

I was hoping for all-over color and fancy schmancy highlights. But I sat down and said, "Do whatever you want."

She decided to do bright red "panels" in my hair, update my blonde roots and give me a trim.

The blonding looks great (better than I do at home, but not hugely).
The trim is shorter than I wanted, but she updated my layers and it looks nice enough.
The panels... well... one turned out very cute. A panel is a wide streak of color in the middle layer of your hair... so it "peek-a-boos" out when you toss your hair and such.
So, one turned out as expected,.. the other was done too close to my top layer of hair which means you see a straight painted line of hair near the back of my head.

Hmmm,....

So,.. I guess I have every incentive I need to do whatever I want to my hair myself.
1. Obviously I can do as well, if not better at home.
2. I was EXCITED for a hair color change.
3. My job means I can have funky colors, as long as its nice looking.
4. Someday Ill have money.

So, there is very little need for "after" photos of my salon visit. Bah.

The salon experience was weird for me. Being pampered is sort of an awkward experience for me. Next time I need someone with me to so I can talk and giggle rather than read and feel like Im ignoring the salon tech OR have a forced conversation for 1-2 hours with a stranger.

I think this weekend Ill just do something myself and see what happens. I have LOTS of random hair dye (blue, pink, several shades of red, black, maybe even a brown or two)

Im sad about her giving me a shorter trim than I was hoping, though. My hair was finally bordering on long (right below my bra-strap in the back) but she cut about two inches.. and really shortened up the front by about 3 or 4 inches.

*pout* *look for sympathy*

Ill post pics when I screw up my hair myself this weekend, deal?

We actually have a very complete back story for this universe. Everything from how Gabe and Tycho met each other to the Brahe family's generation spanning fascination with the occult. The game has a ton of content in it if you end up liking the setting. -Gabe out He's not wrong, actually. I'm not scheduled to do it or anything, but I have two lectures I am hungry to write. ...

Tycho : We ended up taking a shine to that exterminator we made for some reason, but since we like to retain our conceptual agility we thought it was time to return to the news. With Gabriel leaving town, we saw an opportunity to indulge ourselves in questions like "what happened in there, exactly?" There are three such indulgences, so hopefully we weren't the only people curious about these events, which take place in the womb of the Ancient Earth. I've been inundated with news really from the moment my cohort left, most of which will have to be left to our ...
